THIS IS FOR 10 COMPLET KITS WITH BATTERY BOXES AND VALVES. This is a DIY kit, you need to solder the components. If you want it assembled and tested please see my other listing in my shop. This is a static detector, it uses the electrodes of the Barretter XB1tube as the indoor aerial. The barretter has an iron element which makes it ideal for the indoor aerial. There is also the ability to connect up a longer aerial for greater sensitivity, normally a couple of metres will do. Some experimentation with external aerials in your location will be beneficial. If the aerial is too long background atmospheric static can illuminate the tube. An external meter can also be connected in the region of 200uA to further increase the sensitivity. The potentiometer on the board is for adjusting the range for different size meters. This kit includes a XB1 barretter valve tube and B7G tube socket. This is for the complete kit including the 6V battery box, (batteries not included) and the Barretter tube valve. The batteries are 4 x AAA cells, or you could connect up an external supply of 4.5v - 6 volts. There is also a link on the board for continually illuminating the tube as a night light. The build is suitable for the novice, with a well spaced out board and solder mask. Step by step build instructions provided. A fascinating project with practical uses.
