WIMSHURST MACHINE (ELECTROSTATICS) 7 Inch Plates Miniature Working FINE

A Fine Working Miniature 7 Inch Plate Wimshurst Machine of Museum quality. The 2 contra-rotating Ebonite plates have all their original silver segments to both plates {rare to find the segments in such good and complete condition}. The plates are not warped as is often the case.

All insulated parts are of ebonite, including handles. The 2 glass hand blown shellac Leyden jars are in perfect condition & original and filled with silver foil. The gap of the 2 discharge sphere rods can be adjusted and the fittings are of nickel silvered brass. The drive belts are of leather cord.

The base is black lacquered with Gold lacquer highlights raised on 4 legs. The underside has a numbered plate and stamp {see image}. The winding handle can be removed for transit.

There are no cracks or repairs to any of the ebonite. Base dimensions = 8 x 4.5 Inches.
