W Watson & Son Edinburgh Student H Microscope

Edinburgh Student's Stand-H microscope. The Edinburgh "H" is one of the best models made by W Watson & Sons. Please study the pictures carefully.

The microscope is in good condition and the brass and lacquer look very nice. All of the mechanical parts, the focus, fine focus, stages and condenser appear to work normally and smoothly. The optics appear in good condition but I have not tested them in detail for a number of years.

There are some additional lenses. This example comes with a card that dates it to 1931.

There is also a wooden storage case with a working lock and key. The box has taken a few knocks but would polish up nicely. One of the drawers is missing, the handle has lost its padding.
