This rare and highly unique 1950's Flatters & Garnett Projection Microscope made in Manchester. It is a piece of microscopy history that would make an excellent decorative feature in any office or commercial setting. Its brass, steel and glass construction is a testament to its manufacturers and its purpose. This microscope was used both in research and education settings allowing enlarged images to be presented on screens and vieweed by many people all at once. The high powered lamp through a liquid filled cylinder and condenser before being projected through a specimen to the microscope head. The microscope head focusses using a rack and pinion system.

Mounted on a heavy base, the projector can be articulated in several directions with the height also being adjustable. Whilst not a working item currently it could be used for its original purpose with the addition of a bulb and controller. Alternatively it could easily be converted into a unique lamp.
