An exquisite untouched survival of the everyday instruments of a Victorian architect, cased within a fine burr-walnut box with brass attachments and a fitted interior of two compartments above a drawer. The original instruments are by Stanley of Holborn and other makers. The brass plaque on the top. Is inscribed "H H & Co" for H Herbert & Co, architects of Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, who were renowned in the region for their design of chapels. Excellent original condition with a wonderful colour and surface.
