VARIABLE AIR CONDENSER, VINTAGE {PHYSICS / WIRELESS / RADIO}, BY H W SULIVAN - RARE Serial No. Superb quality instrument by one of the best instrument makers of the 20th century.

Instruments from this era were often painted in either Battleship Grey or Duck Egg Blue - obviously paint left over from the war! This fine instrument is calibrated in micro micro farads, (now known as pico farads). The large Bakelite knob rotates the plates and is a bit stiff.

The terminal plate is located at the rear fitted with 2 chrome plated terminals well insulated from one and other. This large variable capacitor is fitted in a hefty polished lacquered mahogany case. Overall height: 9.5 inches.
