Unusual 19thC Antique French Brass Field Microscope-Dbl Column/Pillar-Wood Case. 9 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide x 3 3/16 (diameter of base). Case: 10 1/2" x 5 3/4" x 3 5/8. Total weight: 27.5 ounces (microscope alone) + 30 ounces (case and accessories alone) = 57.5 ounces or approx. Antique field microscope in its original, solid wood case.

Double pillar form with adjustable stage. Bulls-eye lens on an articulated arm mounted above the stage.

Markings: one objective is hand engraved "2", the other "3". Original solid wood fitted case with lock (no key included).

Includes a group of 14 various mounted specimens, hand identified in French. These were in the case with the microscope when I recently acquired it. The microscope seems to be fully functional with no issues. Moving parts move easily as designed with no issues.

The lenses are generally clean and clear with no damages and no haze or scratches. The microscope is in excellent, all original cosmetic condition. No damages and no significant wear.

I detect no missing parts and no replaced or non original parts (although presumably a third objective lens was originally included). No dings, dents, bends, breaks, splits.

No significant scratches or rubs. Typical, scattered, all-over oxidation to the brass due to age. The interior is very clean as found and all of the original interior dividers, etc. Appear to be present but notice that the glue has loosened on a few pieces.

Consult photos for all of this. Otherwise the case is in very good, all original condition with no damages and no significant wear. No bruises, chips, breaks, splits, losses, gouges, stains.
