An Exquisite small Transit Theodolite manufactured by Georg Butenschon from the District of Bahrenfeld in Hamburg, Germany. Georg made instruments for the Geodesy.

This is an early instrument of his andis original and WORKING. The instrument is of solid brass both lacquered and oxidised.

There are 2 focussing eyepiece readers with original shades in perfect condition. The Telescope tube Spirit level is complete and focus is by rack and pinion. The Instrument is fully lockable at all points.

The Instrument has not been polished or messed with in anyway. The lenses are fine and free from any mould or scratches. The Instrument is beautifully signed and Numbered. NB: The round bubble level in the centre of the Instrument has dried out but is original and untouched. Height = 10 Inches {to top of spirit level}.
