Swift & Son London Antique Microscope in fitted mahogany case 19. Nice example of a Victorian microscope in a fitted wooden case, complete with an eyepiece lens and two objective lenses. The microscope is made of brass with the original laquer finish. It is signed on the back of the base with the makers name. The microscope tilts, has a manually adjustable and extendable eyepiece tube and an additional fine focus on the rear.

This model has the elegant circular stage and below the stage is double sided articulated mirror to focus the light. The microscope measures approximately 11 tall when not extended. The microscope comes with a good quality eyepiece lens (x10 Zeiss) and two objective lenses, both signed'Swift & Son' and 1 (low-power) and 1/6 (high-power) that come in fitted draw.

The microscope is in good general working order and I have set it up and taken some simple images through each of the objectives through the eyepiece to show what it can do. The microscope comes in its original fitted mahogany case with sections to hold the various lenses and accessories.
