There are no marking on the instrument or box that would indicate maker or date made. Features are very similar to theodolites made by Troughton & Simms (London, England). It was likely made in the early 1900's. The Technical Manufacturing, and Supply Co. Importers of Engineers, Surveyors and Architects' Supplies of all kinds.

As shown on one of the pictures there is etched on the back of the vertical circle, "W1016394" which might provide information on origin or age of this instrument. There are four leveling screws on the base so it was likely made for use in North America. The instrument is in very good condition showing minimal wear from usage. The telescope focuses but cross hairs are not properly aligned.

Images are upside down using the small eyepiece. The auxiliary longer eyepiece shown in the above pictures inverts the image to an upright position.

Length of the telescope - 10. Diameter of Horizontal Base: 5-1/2. Diameter of Vertical Circle: 5-1/4. Wooden case in good condition - 13" x 12" x 7-1/2.

LTD, Vancouver, British Columbia in July, 1964 by a private collector. It has been in climate controlled storage since then.
