An absolutely beautiful, and collectible object - dating from around 1925 this is an E. Leitz Wetzlar monocular microscope with upper section made from brass.
There is a small metal plate that states U. It comes with 3 x objectives - 2 are brass, and in brass cases - these are both made by Ogilvy & Co. In London and they are 2/3 inch and 1/6 inch. The third is a Beck London 32mm and looks later than the other two. This one is in a black metal Beck case. There is a small wooden box that slides out from the case - the lid slides open and all that is in here is a different fitting that goes underneath the slide stage (see pictures).
The microscope comes in the original fitted wooden case, which itself is beautifully made. Sadly there is no key but it closes securely with 2 small clips at the side. IMPORTANT : I believe the stage may not be entirely complete - it has no clips (to hold slides in place). Loads of other similar and interesting items on sale, please see my other items.
