Rare mid to late nineteenth century compendium Hunter case Panchronometer (compass and sun dial). The case is a blued non magnetic gun metal alloy.
Both are functioning in very good unrestored or cleaned condition. Paper dial to lid in excellent condition. Auto lock mechanism for compass when lid is closed.Remains locked when opened until the catch is depressed. Case is showing two areas of wear front and back of the blued finish as shown. The case diamteter is 51.8 mm with depth of 20 mm. Total weight is 110 grams. Fresh to the market via a Greenwich estate.
