A High quality fitted Cuban Flame Mahogany and Brass Banded cased, Surgeons Amputation Kit, dating from around 1840. The Plush Lined Fitted case has a selection of knives including, Brain Knife {Weiss} and Liston Knives. There is a exceptional example of a long bladed blade length = 10.5 Inches. Total Length = 15 Inches curved Liston knife by Wood with hatched handle and a fine amputation saw by, J. The Rib cutters are signed Wood as are the tweezers. The Smaller Liston knife is signed Mathieu.

The Suture needles are by Wood. There is also a Finger Saw.

All handles are of Rose Wood. The case also contains a fine Brass Tourniquet and pad. The case is in outstanding condition with no movement of the banding, the case has not been forced open and the lock mechanism is intact [no key]. Case Dimensions = 17.5 x 5.5 x 3 Inches.
