Medical Shocking Coil Cased Glass Battery C1900 Brass A1 Condition
A Exceptionally good quality and functioning Medical Electric Shocking machine in its original Walnut case with side accessory draw. The machine has its original glass Battery and Removable Electrode for protection when in Transport.
When not in use or being transported the electrode is placed in its composite container and the bung which is also of the period and probably the original secures the acid cell. The Voltage is controlled by a Fine Brass Lever with a polished insulated Ebonite knob that has contacts numbered from 1 to 12 on the ebonite next to the corresponding brass contact posts. The inner surface is of Polished Ebonite Plate and Engraved.The Double coil with original green copper covered wire has a trembler system controlled by the brass screw contact breaker. The Instrument has its pair of Nickel silvered and fruit wood handled hand probes and also has its original connecting leads in fine condition. When the lid is closed a Brass rod forces the side door to remain closed in transit. The Shocking coil has a working key [not original] with Nickel silvered fittings and ornate carry handle. The case is in very good condition.
