A LARGE, FIRST CLASS BRASS BINOCULAR MICROSCOPE. BASED ON THE ROSS BAR LIMB DESIGN (c1870). THE MICROSCOPE IS UNSIGNED AND BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN MADE BY E. WAS A MANUFACTURE OF MICROSCOPES, TELESCOPES ETC.

MANY OF THE HIGH QUALITY MAKERS PRODUCED MICROSCOPES FOR THE RETAILING OF INDEPENDANTS, WHO THEN HAD ENGRAVED THEIR OWN NAME ON ACCESSORIES AND MORE OFTEN, ON THE MICROSCOPE BASE. THERE ARE PRIME EXAMPLES OF OTHER MAKERS OF THE PERIOD, PRODUCING THESE EXHIBITION STANDARD MICROSCOPES SUCH AS ROSS, DALLMEYER, COLLINS, BAKER, WATSON , ETC. THIS IMPRESSIVE MICROSCOPE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH AN ARRAY OF ORIGINAL COMPONENTS. OPTICS ARE FREE OF FUNGUS, SCRATCH FREE. THERE MAY BE SOME MINOR CLEANING OF INTERNAL GLASS REQUIRED, THE MICROSCOPE IS WELL OVER 100 YEARS OLD! INCLUDED ARE 3 SETS OF EYEPIECES. 3 OPTICS TO INCLUDE 1/4", 1/2" & 1, EACH WITH CANNISTER.
