A substantial quality compass example it measures 135mm x 130mm x 31mm, with a dial diameter of 110mm, and weighs just over 500 grams. In good working order, the cosmetic condition of the compass is very good with a clean dial and although unsigned, the quality would indicate it was likely made by one of the more prominent instrument makers of the time, possibly Dollond.
