VERY LARGE ANTIQUE BRASS MAGIC LANTERN PROJECTOR PROJECTION LENS with INTEGRAL SLIDE CARRIAGE Late 19th century 29 1/2 inches (750mm) long Glass lens approx 1 1/2 inches (38mm) diameter Mounting bolts approx 5 inches (230mm) apart, center to center. The slide carriage & mount is alloy, the rest of the lens is brass Good vintage condition, with very light wear, but no chips, cracks, or damage. The rack and pinion adjustment & slide carriage both smoothly, without sticking. No dings in the tubes This is a good vintage lens, and it would be suitable to fit to a Magic Lantern and use, or make a great addition to any collection. In my estimation it dates from the late 19th century, but please make up your own mind about this. The lens measures approx 29 1/2 inches (750mm) long, by 2 3/8 inches (62mm). The actual glass lens is approx 1 1/2 inches 38.
The holes for mounting bolts are approx. 5 inches (230mm) apart, center to center. The slide carriage & mount is alloy, the rest of the lens is brass. It is in good vintage condition, with very light wear in keeping with its age, but no chips or cracks.
The rack and pinion adjustment and slide carriage both work smoothly, without sticking. There are no dings in the tubes.
