An excellent example of Hilger and Watts Microptic Number 1 theodolite, presented within its original fitted leather-bound case. Hilger & Watts was a London maker, founded in 1948 upon the merger of E R Watts & Sons, Adam Hilger and James Swift and Son. This particular instrument survives in extremely good condition, with crisp optics, all controls working, spirit level intact and close-to-perfect original paint. It comes complete with its original leather-bound case.
