Antique Microscope by Bausch & Lomb. Fine example of a high quality early 20th Century microscope in a fitted wooden case, complete with two eyepiece lenses and 3 objective lenses. The microscope parts are made of brass on a heavy black lacquered base. It has an extendable eyepiece tube, rack and pinion main focus and an additional fine focus. There is a triple revolving nosepiece and a square stage with two slide clips. Below the stage is a large adjustable mirror, a condenser lens and adjustable aperture ring. The microscope measures approximately 13 tall plus further extension. It is labelled on the tube with the makers name, model and serial number.

There are two eyepiece lenses, marked 5 and 10 and both stamped for Bausch & Lomb. There are three objective lenses each with their matching canisters; the first is marked 16mm 0.25 N. Bausch & Lomb, the second. And the third Versalio 1/12 In Oil Imm. The microscope is in good working order and I have set it up and tested it with a few old slides.

The microscope was easy to focus with both the coarse and fine and it produced a bright and clear image. The microscope comes in its original fitted case with a working key. There are two pull out shelves that holds the lenses.

The box is approximately 14 (36cm)" high by 6 1/2" (17cm) wide and 8 (20cm) deep. The microscope is in good condition for its age and has remained very complete. It has been used and will have normal signs of wear so please don't expect it to be brand new. There is some tarnishing on the brass and areas of lacquer have worn where it has been handled. The box is sturdy with a nice aged patina however it is not without some small marks and general signs of age and use. The microscope has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced and lightly polished and it displays very nicely.
