The coins date to about 1771-2 at the time when the roguish elements of society engaged in'clipping' the gold coins, a crime punishable by death. The beam is 6.25 140 mm. Long and the case is 160 x 75 x 20 mm.

The hinges and press-button lock are all intact. 3 circular brass weights marked. 13 6, 18, 21 (3 DWT, 4DWT, and 5DWT 9 Grains). 2 brass nesting weight with Queen's Crown (larger weight ½ Oz, and smaller ¼ Oz).
