Flatters and Garnett Precision Vintage Microscope

Antique Flatters & Garnett precision vintage microscope. Vintage from the 1920's - I think. Antique / vintage brass and black enamelled microscope by the famous Manchester scientific instrument manufacture Flatters and Garnett.

This particular model of microscope was made between 1925 and 1935 and was a popular choice of instrument for local universities and students. The microscope is of large and heavy construction, consisting of a very sturdy base, swan neck and sizeable rectangular stage. A three-way nose piece allows easy changing between the three provided objective lenses. There is one ocular lens (eyepiece), a high quality double sided mirror and an adjustable substage condenser with iris. There is some tarnishing to the metal and some slight rust to the base.
