Equinoctial universal compass sundial in case J. J. Hicks, Hatton Garden

A good, clean equinoctial sundial, signed on the silvered dial, J. 8,9,10 HATTON GARDEN, LONDON, with engraved compass points and degrees to the outside in quadrants of 0 90. Jewelled needle with locking bar, bubble level, cross bubble, folding gnonom and latitude bar engraved from 0 90.

On three adjustable levelling screws, the underside engraved and dated, 1898, with the letter I and military crows foot mark. Contained in original felt lined moroccon case with almanac chart and three fastening hooks. Overall dimension: 4.5 inches. Chapter ring diameter: 3.5 inches. Compass dial : 2.5 inches.
