ELECTROLYSIS APPARATUS, VICTORIAN {PHYSICS} by HAVEY & PEAK LATE W. This stunning example of Victorian, (1884- 1899 trading from 56 Charring Cross Road), is not only in pristine condition but absolutely complete and un-damaged - it's as if time has stood still for 130 years!

The instrument comprises an 8 inch diameter polished, turned mahogany base mounted on 3 bun feet. The base carries 2 brass terminals and the maker's name plaque, (in brass).

Mounted centrally on the base is the hand-turned glass bowl 6 inches in diameter and 7 inches high with a few quirky bubbles. The bowl actually has an open tubular bottom which allows two wires to enter which are sealed to the glass with sealing wax. Fixed to these wires are two large Platinum electrodes, approx.

Resting on the rim of the bowl is a rebated mahogany slab which carries two large graduated glass tubes calibrated 0-60 cc and terminating with two ground-in glass stop cocks, (both rotating freely).
