ELECTRO-THERAPY INSTRUMENT {QUACK MEDICINE} VINTAGE BY WOHLMUTH, STOCKHOLM C1930. This oblique opening solid "Ebonized" oak case house a fabulous selection of "things":A battery of 12 cells; a beautiful milli-ammeter with bevelled glass and polished brass bezel, (the meter is either stuck on 5mA or the battery is still delivering 5mA); 2 x selector knobs, one to direct the current to anode or cathode and one to control the level of torture to the patient!

There are 2 sockets which would enable a variety of devices to be connected to the victim - accessories and victim not supplied. All the controls are mounted on panel of blood-red bakelite - how appropriate? With the case closed the brass latches can be fastened and the instrument can be carried, (just about), with the leather strap. This item is extremely heavy.
