Circa 1700s Surveyors Compass/Semi Circumferenter Beautiful Artwork on Box
This is very nice early unsigned semi circumferenter/surveyors compass that dates to the late 1700s. As you can see from the photos it has a nice medium patina finish. This instrument measures about 10 inches long, has a 5 inch plate and a 4 inch long compass needle. It comes with what you see in the photos nothing else, nice early folk art painted original box. Only thing I see wrong is one of the decorative little red pieces has come unglued inside the trough compass.
