Beautiful antique Farrow & Jackson Sikes' hydrometer in original mahogany case. A beautiful antique (circa 1900) Farrow & Jackson Sikes' hydrometer in original mahogany case and lining having a bone cartouche on the lid engraved. The hydrometer is complete with all brass weights (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 & 90 grammes), float and cap, all bearing their serial number 5268. Original thermometer mounted on bone scale (undamaged with all screws present and correct).

X 2 (20.3cm x 9.5cm x 5cm). Condition: Beautiful condition, all original pieces with matching serial number. The item photographs are an important and integral part of the item's condition description and should be viewed as such.

Farrow & Jackson were established in 1798, based at 16 Great Tower Street, London, EC. They became a private limited company in 1897 and were listed as mechanical engineers and manufacturers of wine bins and cellar requisites and machinery for brewing, mineral water and refrigerating trades; also listed as at 8 Haymarket and 91 Mansell Street, Aldgate and 24 Eastminster and as wine and spirit merchants.
