On offer is a very nice Baker Wenham binocular microscope that I estimate to have been made ca 1860. The basic frame of the instrument has the classic bar-limb design. The optical components of the microscope consist of paired unmarked oculars and two objectives, 1/4" and 1". There is a cylinder attached to the bottom of the stage that will accept a condenser or aperture wheel, but those accessories are missing. The mirror is in good condition, noting some marking of the concave side.
The circular stage rotates manually i. Without any drive gear and has stage fingers mounted on a transverse dovetail slide. Overall, the cosmetic appearance of the microscope is very good. The microscope case has its lock and key but is in poor shape with missing internal furniture for the objectives and eyepieces and a piece of wood missing from the bottom of the door. The case is unusual in having handles at the nominal top and bottom, so that the microscope lies horizontal.
