Antiqued orrery solar system by SC artist, Will S. Up for your consideration is another beautiful Planetarium- solar system model by South Carolina artist, Will S. This particular model measures 23 inches tall and has a planet width of 30 inches across. All nine hand painted wood and glass planets are represented including Pluto.
The planets may be manually positioned around the aged copper 5 inch sun. The vintage stand is made of dark stained wood.
The bottom round base measures 8 inches wide. This model has good weight and is a very striking and handsome one-of-a-kind art piece. Anderson has been handmaking, designing and creating Antiqued one-of-a-kind Orries for the last decade.
Being an art major graduate from the University of Pennsylvania and finishing up his 6 year art education at the Art Institute of Atlanta, he's always had an interest in the intriguing pieces of the past. His ideas began after browsing through his wife's copy of Martha Stewart's book, " New Old House", he spotted an unusual item, an antique orrery. After sleuthing for a few weeks to find one , he found that originals cost a thousand dollars and upwards and was determined to make one himself..... He's always up for a challenge!
