Antique Vintage Busch Rathenow Focimeter Early Optical Instrument Opticians

An original Focimeter by Busch dating from the early 20th century, used to determine the strength of lenses by measuring light against a dioptric scale. It stands on a heavy metal base with an eyepiece at the top. There is a mirror at the bottom to direct light up into the focimeter and a pair of mirrors on the side which allow the scale to be read from the top of the microscope. It also comes with an additional clamp which attaches to the main body of the instrument which allows for a light source such as a bulb to be attached. It is signed on the front of the tube with the maker's name and serial number Busch Rathenow 2527 D.

It is in good condition for its age however some of the black paint is flaking and worn. Length of main Instrument : 18 (46cm).
