A large and impressive, beautifully engineered, 6.5 transit theodolite by William Ford Stanley of London, complete with its original mahogany case and tripod stand. The transit dial is 17cm. In diameter, the sight 27cm 10. In its case, the instrument weighs in at around 12.3kg (28lb). The foot is engraved "Stanley, London" and "Stanley's Patent" , and is also marked with the serial number 104297, dating to around 1910. Inside the case, there are some service and repair labels dating to 1937. I pay a great deal of attention to packaging with a view to ensuring that items reach buyers quickly and without damage. Most of the items I sell are antique, of high value and impossible to replace.

Items are generally wrapped in multiple layers of bubblewrap and placed in strong double-wall cardboard boxes with the void filled with a 100% recycled polystyrene loosefill. I have tried alternatives to bubblewrap but none come close in terms of the level of protection they provide. They are not the cheapest, but do offer a professional, fast (normally next-day) service and have proper shelving in their vans, which many of their competitors are unable to provide.

If at all possible, please re-use the packaging, or find someone that can. The item "Antique transit theodolite, William Stanley of London, immense proportions" is in sale since Friday, September 13, 2019. This item is in the category "Collectables\Scientific Collectables\Engineering & Surveying".

The seller is "james_cumbria" and is located in Penrith, Cumbria. This item can be shipped to North, South, or Latin America, all countries in Europe, all countries in continental Asia, Australia.
