Antique Open Faced Brass Aneroid Holosteric Barrel Barometer & Thermometer PHBN - France, 5. Silvered engraved face, with Fahrenheit Thermometer 0 - 140 and barometer scale is marked 28 - 31 inches, Turning adjuster screw to the back and rotating arrow marker to the face. Manufactured by Pertuis Hulot Bourgeois Naudet.

The company started operations in Paris, France in 1859 by the founders, Messrs. Pertuis, Hulot, Bourgeois and Naudet, began operating as Naudet & Cie in 1860. Their Trade Mark was PNHB, for their last names, and later was said to mean, Paul Haudet Holosteric Barometer. They were located at 4, Place Thorigny, Paris. Over the years various changes took place in ownership and management, but the high quality of their instruments was maintained. They survived the rigors of WW II. In 1985, the companys headquarters moved to 12, rue du Bois, in Le Perreux sur Marne. 13cm diameter and 5cm deep. Good used condition for age, with with some wear, tarnishing, dints and scratches.
