Antique surveyors level theodolite. Ottway of London. Superb tripod included

A large, most impressive and beautifully engineered polished brass surveyor's level bv William Ottway of London. Engraved to one side with the maker's mark "W Ottway & Co Ltd, Manufacturers, Ealing, London" and to the reverse with the retailer's mark "B J Hall & Co Ltd, London, Sole Agents".

In later years, the company was taken over by his son, Walter Thomas Ottway. The instrument survives in fine condition and measures 37cm x 22cm.
