The dial is signed "163 New Bond Street, London, " with the patent number "835" and the casemaker's mark AT. It features a gilt-finished movement with an oscillating pivoted weight on an arm and a ratcheted gear train, a white enamel dial with Roman numerals, a single blued steel hand, and an engine-turned case on both the front and back. The movement is accessed by depressing a catch at the base. William Payne & Co took part in The Great Exhibition of 1851, where the company exhibited these instruments. They were patronized by the British Royal Family following this event.

This pedometer would make a lovely addition to any collection. There is a small chip to the dial but overall it is in excellent condition and is in working order. Please check the photographs and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
