Antique Naturalists Botanical Folding Field Microscope Magnifier Fleaglass Cased. This is a very good example of an entomologist's simple magnifier / flea glass /flower microscope. These small, Folding, simple microscopes were carried by Gentlemen in their pockets when traveling out into the field. The 3/8" diameter lens is held in a 5/8" diameter brass housing.

The lens is in very good & clear condition. TThere are NO cracks in the handle or the lens.

The brass frame and housing for the lens have a very nice patina with much original finish. The lens housing has very tiny knurled edges on both ends. The center rail frame member used to have a sliding holder for the included specimen spike but it has gone missing over all these years. No makers mark on this instrument. 7cm long when folded and approx.

11cm x 7 cm when opened. This example comes with its original fish skin effect covered carrying/storage box.
