A rare and complete, demonstration Electricity Experiments toy. Franklin Experimentirkasten fur Elektricitat' by Meiser & Mertig of Dresden, about 1895. These toys are very scarce and seldom complete.
This example has the full complement of experiments and is in good condition. The heart of the set is the single plate electrostatic generator of a Winters type. When conditions are correct as the plate is turned the charge is created and can be connected to various pieces of equipment. Some technical and others quite fun. The House has a shooter and small paper doves when charged fly around the roof erratically. The rifle discharges with a crack and the doves fall down. The See Saw will swing and the man in a Gondala also swings quite violently. The bells are rung from a suspended clanger and there are electric motors that turn.
Two experiments demonstrate sparks that ignite a candle wick and powder charge. Other fun ones in the tins are the Electric boat and puppet man. There is a glass rod stand that is used to mount them and wires to connect them.
