A very good antique pattern lacquered brass compound microscope by Watson and Sons of London, the stand nicely engraved "W Watson & Sons, 313 High Holborn, London" and marked with the serial number 4373, which dates the instrument to around 1898. Its twin turret is fitted with quality objectives by Carl Zeiss of Jena, which come complete with their matching brass cannisters.
A third objective is also included. The microscope is complete with a swing-out substage condenser, plano concave mirror, and a handful of prepared microscope slides. I pay a great deal of attention to packaging with a view to ensuring that items reach buyers quickly and without damage. Most of the items I sell are antique, of high value and impossible to replace.Items are generally wrapped in multiple layers of bubblewrap and placed in strong double-wall cardboard boxes with the void filled with a 100% recycled polystyrene loosefill. I have tried alternatives to bubblewrap but none come close in terms of the level of protection they provide.
They are not the cheapest, but do offer a professional, fast (normally next-day) service and have proper shelving in their vans, which many of their competitors are unable to provide. If at all possible, please re-use the packaging, or find someone that can.
