Rare Gregorian Telescope By Henry Pyefinch, London. Engraved on the brass Eyepiece H. This reflecting telescope uses the Gregorian optical configuration. The telescope has a brass lacquered tube.
The claw-foot tripod stand allows the telescope to be used on a table, while focusing is achieved by moving the small mirror by means of a screw rod, attached to the barrel. The instrument has never been to the market and has been kept in the same family for over 150 years. It is as found in the original Condition. Very good state of conservation, wear consistent with age.
It still has all its mirrors and original tube cap, it is provided of a glass cover at the top of the tube, apparently two minor screws are missing (image 4).
