Antique Curnon Barograph Steam Flow Meter Sl2432

ANTIQUE CURNON BAROGRAPH STEAM FLOW METER SL2432. This is an amazing piece of scientific engineering. It seems to work on the same principle as the barograph where changes in pressure are recorded on a clockwork rotating drum.

The only difference being that the pressure differences are not atmospheric, but are a measure of the steam pressure and the deflection of the small copper tubes. The bulk of the body of this device is a black painted brass pressure vessel for the steam. The pressure is recorded through a series of copper and brass pipes and levers onto a brass clockwork drum.

The back of the case seems to be aluminium and the base is cast iron. The removable cover is made from fibreglass with a glass window. Dimension: W38cm x H28cm x D23 cm.
