Huge & Heavy - 70 + LBS. Copper & Bronze Electric Knife Switch. This sale is for the HUGE & HEAVY Antique Crouse Hinds Copper & Bronze Electric Knife Switch pictured. This antique electrical knife switch is made of almost all copper & bronze save the Bakelite handle attaching bar, and 2 steel threaded rods at the rear of the switch.

All the copper parts seen on the table weigh over 70 pounds. To get a better sense of the size see the smaller switch further back on the table and next to the large one in several pics. The smaller switch measures approx. 10 long from handle to back joint w/ vertical post. Note the decorative knurling and cove on each of the upper bolsters.

All of the other 4 contact rods are all copper, including the threaded rods and nuts as they carried electrical current. This large switch was set up with two sets of contacts for the one pull. In other words from its mounting point the handle could be swung up to make contact with 4 posts, or swung all the way down to 4 other contact posts. (SEE LAST PIC) This large electrical knife switch came off a large lighting control panel that was mounted on a marble slab that has been disassembled.
