Antique c1920's "George & Becker" of London Brass & Oak Scientific Vacuum Pump. Antique c1920's "George & Becker" of London scientific vacuum pump. Or though there are no makers marks this looks exactly like two other. S I have seen in the past, so I have made that assumption. This is in excellent condition.

The brass and cast iron pump sits on a plinth of oak. The oak has a medium brown coloured finish with a darker visible grain and the brass has acquired a nice patina.

The sliding of the pump in and out has a nice smooth and tight action. The valve handle below the brass platform turns as it should, as does the valve knob at the base of the pump.

All in all, a very interesting collectable piece. Height: 22.5cm (9) handle in. Width: 36.25cm (14 1/2) handle in. Minimum Handle Length: 3.75cm (1 1/2) between handle & brass ring. Maximum Handle Length: 19.5cm (7 3/4) between handle & brass ring. If you have any questions please let me know.
