Antique c1870 Brass James W. Queen & Co. Surveyor Compass Barometer Instrument

Beautiful double sided piece of surveying equipment. Please ask any additional questions this was part of the state I do not have a lot of information on this piece it does seem to be functioning.

Pressure tested with seal bags and air pressure you will see where the dial was and then the pressure upon the dial it does seem to be functioning properly the compass side is definitely moving for me and I believe it is accurate also. To be honest, I don't really know 100% what this is. I think it may be a barometer. It may be something else altogether, but I know that it came with a bunch of surveying equipment, but does not mean it's absolutely for surveying.
