Antique 18th Century Shagreen Cased Scalple Set By SAVIGNY Makers To The King. This is a superb and rare cased set of two scalpels which are signed to each blade with the maker SAVIGNY. The case is superb quality as would be expected and is finished in fine Shagreen. The approximate maximum dimensions of the case are: 19 cm long x 2.5 cm deep x 2 cm high.
The approximate maximum dimensions of the scalpels are: 17 cm long x 1.5 cm wide. The scalpels and case are in very good condition considering their age. The is odd bits of wear to the case, mainly to the under side. There is also some wear to the red velvet interior lining. The blades have odd age marks as would be expected and the handles are in good condition.
