The brass mater with an upper trilobed palmette and suspension shackle contains three plates engraved on both sides each bearing stereographic projections for various latitudes and a very simple rete. Are lacking the alidade and the pin to block the plates and rete. This kind of small (6,5 cm diameter) astrolabe, not really usable, was made as lucky charm or amulet for newborns. A not so easy to find and good example from the 19th century or circa 1900. This item is in the category "Antiques\Science & Medicine (Pre-1930)\Scientific Instruments\Other Antique Science Equip".
