Signed GEORGE Rue Dauphine à Paris on the smaller tube. Cardboard tubes, green vellum covered with gold toolings. Brass eyepiece ring with dust slide, and 2 inner original rings en chagrin. Erector with 3 lenses, mahogany fitted.

Length: open 79cm (31); closed 29cm (11 ½); max diam. Very few instruments by him survived : at CNAM there are a cadran solare and a very similar telescope. Webster database list a telescope dated 1744.
