A superb antique barometer, retailed by the renowned A. In excellent original condition and good working order with a lovely original colour and patina, it measures approximately 37" tall, 10" at the widest point and 2 1/4 deep. Of 116-128 High Holborn was one of the capitals major department stores also known as "The People's Popular Emporium " and purported o be the world's largest sports outfitters. The case is wonderfully carved oak with fine detail and the white porcelain face is in excellent condition, a beautiful piece to admire every day and also very useful with both barometer and thermometer.
