Extremely rare & antique arc carbon lamp with wind up motor and electric interrupter made by by Duboscq in Paris, France. This impressive model with tripod base is the rarest & largest arc lamp model made by Duboscq. You can only see illustration of this electric apparatus in the E. Lami Industrial Encyclopedia, but this model is impossible see live (first time i see this model in 20 years). Even the collection of historical scientific instrument of Harvard has three smaller and more common models than this one, but not this one.
This impressive device has been made between 1860 and 1875 and has an extremely low serial number: 63. Clockowork movement is working perfectly, however instrument is untested. Original antique condition and complete (not even a screw is missing - and this is really amazing considering it is a sophisticated instrument with more or less 150 years old). It has an overall height of 30.1/2 inches. All defects not mentioned but visible in the pictures will be considered as described. If you have any question, do not hesitate to contact me.
