Gebbie & Co Circa 1850, 2 full days balance, chronometer detent spring escapement helical spiral. The chronometer is fully working and in excellent condition, coming with its original mahogany lockable box case and outer carry case and winding key, Stunning item and is very collectable. Two Day 28 Cathcart St Greenock no 2550 with gold spade hands with blued seconds hands. The movement is mounted between spotted plates numbered with Earnshaw escapement plain balance steel helical balance spring with jewelled detents, contained within a brass gimbal counter stamped 6196 in a three-tier box and tipsy key. The chronometer is totally original to the case to the gimble bracket, the movement is also original to the dial with no sign of restoration. The chronometer dial is silvered.
