1870's Original Antique Admiral Fitzroy Storm Stick Barometer Oak Cased
1870'S ORIGINAL ANTIQUE ADMIRAL FITZROY STORM STICK BAROMETER - OAK CASED. Circa 1870's, an antique Admiral Fitzroy Storm Barometer. This is an original Victorian instrument, and not one of the later vintage copies. Carved oak case with glass front intact. Internal instructions and notes labels complete.
As found and good for restoration. Missing the thermometer, the shadow where it was is visible, so should be easy to replace. Barometer contains mercury in the reservoir, but the storm barometer has dried up. The two knobs which turn the indicators to record the highs and lows for the barometer are missing. I have tested the gearing using a pocket watch key, and these still operate.
Marks and stains from age to the labels, several age splits to the oak and a small nibble to the corner of the top pediment. Please see photographs for detailed condition. Please see my other listings for interesting items.
