The microscope stands about 11 1/4 high in its closed position. Coarse focus is rack and pinion, and fine focus knob is on the top of the limb. The draw tube has markings 16-25. Mechanical stage has X-Y control knobs, and a rotating slid holder with a pair of clips.
Sub-stage condenser with variable diaphragm, swing-out filter holder, and the plano-concave mirror is good and clean on both sides. The swing-out sub-stage is centre adjustable and its vertical movement is also controlled by rack and pinion. WATSON & SONS, LONDON' is marked on the substage.
There are two objectives - a WATSON'S 1/6 IN, and a 1 IN, both are in brass containers. Leitz eyepieces - 1 & 4, maker's name is marked on the tubes. Also come with the scope, an analyser and a polarizer, all prisms are present.The scope is in excellent condition for its age, all knobs move smoothly, and the scope delivers beautiful images.
