For sale is an unusual combined barograph and thermograph which records both atmospheric pressure and temperature on a double height drum. These'double' recording instruments are quite rare. It is made by the renowned French firm of Richard Freres, Paris and has the company logo and serial number 88657 on the top of the movement. It is housed in what I believe is a fruitwood case, glazed on three sides. It is of compact size measuring just over 8 inches tall by 7.5 inches wide and 4.75 inches deep.
I think it probably dates from the 1930s or 1940s. It is in good period condition and working order - the barometer movement has been airbag tested and the movement ticks freely when wound.
Please see the photos which form part of the description. For completeness, there a few minor historic and inactive filled worm holes to the rear inside base section of the case - which are not apparent when the case is shut, and do not affect the look of the instrument.
I have owned the barograph for around 15 years, and only noticed them for the first time when checking it before listing - so do not consider they should be of concern.
